Trindle Spring Run Stream Project

Trindle Spring Run Stream Improvement

Trindle Spring Run is a designated high quality and cold water fishery that runs through Mechanicsburg. The project area began at the point that Trindle Spring Run flows under the Carlisle Pike near the Best Buy and Wegman’s Supermarket to the mouth of the Conodoguient River.

Restoration & Collaboration

Before & After: The project consisted of a series of log structures, deflector vanes, mud sills, and stream channel modifications to improve the stream habitat and environment for the native trout and insect life found in the stream.

The project was the result of an agreement between the PA American Water Company and the PA Department of Environmental Protection in July 2015 to settle a water contamination event on Trindle Spring Run.

PA American Water proposed a stream restoration and watershed improvement project costing $55,000. CVTU was tasked with overseeing the implementation of the project.
