Chapter Events & Activites
Monthly Meetings
Locally, our CVTU Chapter offers monthly meetings with featured presentations on fishing and conservation-related topics. These meetings are an opportunity for members to gather and discuss their interests and learn about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
Public Outreach and Educational Programs
Our chapter hosts and supports a variety of public outreach and educational programs throughout the year, including the winter fly tying courses, the Rivers Fly Fishing and Conservation Camp each summer, and Trout in the Classroom programs in many of our area schools, just to name some of the larger programs. We collaborate with many local conservation agencies and groups to support their programing as well. Our members can assist in these programs as volunteers to help educate young and old members of the public about the value of cold-water conservation and the joys of fishing and experiencing our local streams. (mention volunteer opportunities)
Stream Improvement Projects
CVTU also periodically collaborates with local agencies and groups to implement in-stream and riparian buffer improvement projects on our area streams. Our members can participate in these initiatives on a variety of levels from planning, communications, and grant applications to the hands-on work ranging from stream structure installation to planting tree and shrub seedlings.
