Introduction to Fishing Meet-Up
We have the following dates scheduled for our introduction to fishing meet-ups this spring.
We welcome adults and children, women and men, CVTU members and non-members, to join us in learning about fishing on the water. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to enhance your skills, we are here to assist you. Our goal is to help you learn the fishing technique that suits you best, whether it’s using a cane pole, a spin-cast rod, or a fly rod. The most important thing is to connect with the waters we cherish and to enjoy learning and fishing together!
When:
Saturday Morning, 4/12 at 9 AM
Friday Evening, 4/25 at 5:30 PM
Wednesday Evening, 5/7 at 5:30 PM
Sunday Afternoon, 5/18 at 3 PM
Where:
South Middleton Township Park
534 Park Drive,
Boiling Springs, PA 17007
(We will meet here to start, but participants may go to other places to fish)
What to bring:
- Some fishing gear if you have some.
- A valid 2023 PA Fishing License and Trout Stamp Buy a Pennsylvania Fishing License (fishandboat.com)
- An open mind, some patience, and a sense of humor!
What we can provide:
- Instructions on basic gear, rod set-up, rigging
- Basic fishing strategy, and opportunities for casting practice.
- Extra rods will be available, but please bring your own rod if you can.
- Chapter members who are willing to share their experience with you.
- A chance to go fishing with someone.
These will be relaxed events, with structured group instruction when appropriate, individual instruction as much as possible, and an emphasis on learning in a positive, encouraging environment. We start by letting everyone introduce themselves and describe their interests. Then we get out on the water!
